“Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.”
Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love. They are both cookie bakers and memory makers. They are both a story teller and a teacher. To cherish the bond between Grandparents and Grandchildren, we at Vardhman Academy, Radha Garden, Meerut celebrated Grandparents Day on September 7th 2024 with great pomp and show. The grandkids of Kindergarten and Primary sections celebrated this day with their grandparents.
Our learners of class IV welcomed the grandparents with the auspicious tilak ceremony. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony.
The event began with a special welcome song for the grandparents. From lively traditional dances to modern song renditions our students dazzled with a mix of traditional and contemporary dance routines, reflecting their diverse talents and enthusiasm.
Various games and activities like Antakshari, Guess the movie/actors, dumb charades were organized for the grandparents. They participated zealously in all the games and activities and added a spark to the celebration with their robust participation. They were invited to express their thoughts and memories of their childhood. Different emotions could be felt and all the attendees were visibly moved after witnessing the grandparents’ boundless affection for their grandchildren. Memories were cherished with a perfect blend of smiles and tears.
Our Principal, Ms. Rekha Sharma addressed the gathering with and appreciated the grandparents for all that they do and also for gracing the occasion with their presence.
The programme certainly brought a feeling that grandparents are indeed the most precious gift of God to the grandchildren!
